How do you feel when you are filled with information, ideas and questions? Well according to Michael, pregnant! And so we pause to deliver the burden of knowledge that we have been amassing, exploring, and discussing. I am looking forward to this pause in our conversation about teacher education. Far too many times we do not take the time to stop and rest and reflect.

"My Voice Counts"
"Where we come from does not determine who we can become. What we look like places no limits on what we can achieve. We should all have the right to express ourselves, all have the right to be heard, all have the right to be what we can be: To reach for the sky and touch the stars. No matter who we are, no matter whether we are man or woman, or rich or poor:
My voice, my right. My voice counts."
—Desmond Tutu, a key figure in the defeat of apartheid in South Africa, Nobel Prize Laureate, first black Archbishop of South Africa.
Thanks for the shared narratives and for letting your voices count EDUC581!

Learning to Soar!
I love roller coaster rides! I love the anticipation, the excitement, the climb, and when we fall or twist and turn, I relax totally and enjoy the sensation of soaring. I saw my students soar today. They willingly climbed into the ride of the task I set, and let go (unwillingly at times) of their deep held beliefs that kept them rooted. And as they soared, their eyes shone, their smiles widened and silent screams of joy were expressed as the began to see the light. A wonderful start to an exciting journey!

Welcome Master's Students! I'm Blogging too!
Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging! I am really looking forward to all our online discussions and conversations. Like you, I will be reflecting on our class experiences, my "aha" moments, questions, puzzles and concerns and I would like you to comment on or critique what I have to say.
Today's class was phenomenal and I could not help but wonder how different our lives would be because of our meeting. As I listened to your stories of who you are, and how you came to be at this point of your lives, I could not help but wonder at the points of conversion and difference in the varied stories. What will we learn about teaching and teacher education from each other? What will we make sense of? How will that change who we are becoming? I am really looking forward to this journey.
We are all powerful beyond measure!
